Darby Township commissioners are considering an ordinance imposing a 1% earned income and net profits tax effective Jan. 1, 2027, for general revenue purposes. The ordinance would require employers to register, withhold and remit the tax, establish procedures for filing and payment, and provide for penalties, interest and costs for noncompliance. Commissioners will consider proposed Ordinance 766 on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 7 p.m. at 21 N. Bartram Ave., Glenolden.
