Stonehaven Homes of Devon has opened sales for the first phase of Village Crossing, a luxury community in Buckingham Township directly across Route 202 from Peddler’s Village, on the site of the long-vacant Penn’s Purchase outlet center. The outlet center was purchased by the builder’s president, John McGrath III, for $3.5 million in December 2017 after it sat dormant. The township approved the mixed-use plan for the 14-acre site about five years ago. The project calls for 18 single-family homes starting at $1.9 million and 18 condos starting at $1 million, along with two mixed-use buildings totaling 16,420 square feet of retail and commercial space, and a Victorian home restored into four apartments. McGrath called the site a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity” given its proximity to Peddler’s Village, which draws about 2 million visitors a year, and said the development will significantly reduce traffic compared to its previous use, restore about 4.5 acres of green space and boost township tax revenue sevenfold.
