Limerick Township outbid for property

Published Friday, October 16, 2026

Limerick Township supervisors were set to vote on buying 28.1 acres at 1 Keen Road, a light-industrial-zoned parcel listed as a target in the township’s open space plan, but learned the owners had accepted a different offer at the last minute. Township Manager Dan Kerr said the township was approached in late July, had the property appraised at $2.2 million, and reached a verbal agreement at $1.9 million before the owners received an unsolicited conditional offer of $2.25 million. The owners then agreed to sell to the township at $2.2 million, but then notified the township they had accepted another offer. Because state law bars the township from paying more than the appraised price, solicitor Rebecca Geiser noted it could not top the competing bid. Supervisor Chair Connie Lawson moved to pre-authorize a $2.2 million purchase through Dec. 31 in case the property becomes available again, which passed unanimously. County records show the owners bought it in 2016 for $445,000.
