Lansdowne is home to Pennsylvania’s new designated Main Street Matters business district. As a designated Main Street, the community has access to priority funding opportunities through the state Department of Community and Economic Development. Those include tax credits that encourage business growth and private investment, along with technical and operational support and networking opportunities with other towns in the program. Lansdowne Borough Council President Jessica Pointer said the community has a strong sense of place and character and is filled with people who care deeply. “This designation does more than recognize Lansdowne’s potential, it gives us another opportunity to act on it, and we are ready,” she said.
