A construction and development firm has paid $23 million for 75 acres of land in West Sadsbury Township near the western edge of Chester County, a prime location for additional commercial development along Route 30. Ephrata-based Benchmark Construction purchased the property at 3783-3975 W. Lincoln Highway in Parkesburg from an entity affiliated with Mark Bedwell and West Chester construction management firm The Bedwell Co. The property sits along the north side of West Lincoln Highway, or Route 30, between Route 10 to the east and Moscow Road to the west. A Wawa gas station and convenience store adjacent to the property was not included in the transaction. Across Route 30 from the property, West Sadsbury Commons is anchored by Home Depot and Walmart. As Benchmark weighs options for the property, future development could still be years away, given the time it takes to form plans and work through West Sadsbury Township approvals.
