Developers have received a preliminary approval from Trainer Borough that a data center is a by-right use for a 20-plus-acre property in the community. Leonard B. Altieri, the attorney for the property owner of 4001 Ridge Road, posted a legal notice in the Daily Times stating the developer had been given a favorable preliminary opinion for a data center. Trainer officials have not publicly discussed any plans. The property being marketed by Link Logistics is 90% located in Trainer Borough, and about 10% in Lower Chichester Township. Officials in Lower Chichester confirmed at their August commissioners meeting they had met with the company about plans to build a warehouse on the tract but said they want residents to have input. The notice posted in the Daily Times reads that the preliminary opinion states that “Data Center, Data Center Equipment and Data Center Accessory Uses and Structures” are permitted by right. The property is in the I-2 Industrial Zoning District.
