Middletown Township issued a statement saying that Outrigger Industrial Acquisition LLC filed papers in Delaware County Court to withdraw its appeal challenging the land development application that was denied by the township. Outrigger officials claimed the project, which would have subdivided a 35-acre parcel from the Franklin Mint Redevelopment project to build a 330,000-square-foot logistics warehouse, was a “by-right project” that conformed to zoning and should be approved. Nearby residents of the Pond’s Edge and Franklin Station developments said the land was originally planned as a retail promenade not a high-volume logistics hub, which would bring pollution and noise from trucks. In 2025, the Middletown council unanimously denied the Outrigger application. The township said the circumstances behind the withdrawal and the statutory time clock mandate that any future proposed development on the site must follow current zoning standards.
