Philadelphia files stop-work orders for Mole Street’s redevelopment

Published Friday, July 31, 2026

Philadelphia officials have issued stop-work orders on the redevelopment of historic rowhouses on the 100 block of North Mole Street after determining the work did not match approved plans. The project, which would transform one of the city's last enclaves of historically protected, below-market-rate housing, was approved by the Historical Commission last year. City officials said staff observed construction that appeared to exceed the commission's approved alterations.
