Pilot program in Bucks County aims to help families avoid eviction

The Bucks County Opportunity Council (BCOC) and the Gene and Marlene Epstein Humanitarian Fund have launched a new Eviction Prevention Program to address the county's eviction crisis. Bucks County ranks sixth statewide in eviction rates. The Epsteins are matching donations up to $50,000 between July 20-31 to help fund the pilot project, which aims to assist 25 households by preventing housing loss, connecting families with legal aid, and supporting employment and income growth. BCOC—a 60-plus-year-old nonprofit serving low-income families through services like rental assistance, utility shut-off prevention, and weatherization—hopes to raise $150,000 total.
