Norristown municipal staff have recommended making certain revisions and clarifications to the property transfer inspection process, including clarifications to the provisions relating to transfer inspections between family members and revisions to the penalties and violations for failures to comply. The amendments allow for exceptions to a use and occupancy inspection as part of the property transfer process for new construction and certain owner-occupied transfers. Such properties will still be required to comply with all other property transfer requirements, including the filing of the property transfer application.
