State legislators joined Bristol Borough Council members in a tour of ongoing demolition of several row homes along Chestnut Street. The demolition followed the borough’s acquisition of the last privately owned property on the street in a partnership with the Redevelopment Authority of Bucks County that is supported by $1.3 million in state funding. Council President Ralph DiGuiseppe said the site could be suitable for new residential development or possibly serve as a new location for the borough’s fire companies, which are seeking a central station to better serve the entire town. The borough’s plan to clear and redevelop troubled areas along Elm and Chestnut streets began in the 1990s.
