Voter guide for REALTORS®

Welcome to the voter guide for REALTORS®. On these pages you will find important information about the upcoming general election, registering to vote, and candidates that are running for political office.

As a non-partisan organization, we recognize that our members have many different political views. The purpose of this guide is not to change those views. It is simply to provide our members with information about which incumbent legislators have been supportive of our issues, and which candidates in ‘open seat’ legislative districts we feel would best protect our industry and private property rights.

Register and Get Out to Vote

The Suburban REALTORS® Alliance encourages REALTORS® to register to vote. If you are a first time voter, or have recently moved or changed your name, you may need to register or re-register to vote. It is important to back candidates who support private property rights and the real estate industry. REALTORS®, to register to vote click here. Currently, 86% of REALTORS® in Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery Counties are registered to vote.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 8, 2011.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Click here to find your polling place information by address.

Voting absentee

Absentee ballot applications must be received by Voter Services no later than 5:00 p.m. on the Tuesday prior to the primary or election.  However, it is recommended that you apply as early as possible to allow time for necessary mailings. Click here for an absentee ballot application.

Who we support

Decisions regarding which candidates receive RPAC contributions are based solely on their positions on the issues, rather than political affiliation. In “open seat” legislative races where there is no incumbent candidate, or in districts where an incumbent has not been supportive of REALTOR® issues, RPAC Trustees and local association board members will interview candidates to determine whether they should receive support from the REALTOR® community. Incumbent candidates who have interviewed in the past or have been supportive of our issues have not been asked to respond to our interview questions. Click here to see our list of 2011 interviews in Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery Counties.
